Name: Michael Lam
Title: Director
Company: Advance Denim Limited

Michael has over 20 years experience in the denim industry. As the Director of Advance Denim, He is responsible to connect the denim business and cultures from the East to the West. One of his major responsibility is to work together with his colleagues Enrico Forin in Amsterdam and Mark Ix in New York to connect and exchange the denim culture and trends to the Denim City, the Jeans School in Holland and FIT in New York.

Michael is actively in helping the young generation to understand more about the denim and jeans cultures by working together with Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Hong Kong Design Institute to provide some seminars and sponsorships to the students. He worked together with Central St. Martin for the short course about denim and he went to London for the seminar in 2019.

Michael is one of the founding members of the Hong Kong Denim Festival, which this is one of the most important denim event in Asia. He also works together with the Kingpins show in United States and Denim by Premiere Vision in Europe for some events and seminars. By having this connection and experience, Michael always promotes the Chinese denim cultures to the world.

Biography

Tricia is a well-known advocate for innovation and sustainability in the textile and apparel industry. Twenty years ago, Tricia joined Courtalds Fibers NY to develop the marketing plan for a brand new fiber called TENCEL. When Lenzing Fibers acquired Tencel Inc. in 2004, Tricia became the USA Merchandising Manager for Womenswear, Menswear, and Intimates. Today, Tricia directs the Global Denim Segment, as well as the Americas Business Development teams, with a special interest in advancing more sustainable apparel development from fiber to consumer use.

Tricia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising from The Fashion Institute of Technology and certificates in Digital Marketing and Strategy from Cornell University and MIT. Her experience in fabric sales, global sourcing, and apparel business development make her an invaluable partner for brands and retailers who want to re-evaluate their supply chains and optimize the application and benefits of Lenzing’s botanic fibers.

Tricia also serves as Secretary of Accelerating Circularity Project, is a member of the FIT Textile Department Advisory Board and was Vice Chair at Textile Exchange from 2014-2018. In 2020 she was nominated as B2B Content Marketer of the Year by Content Marketing Institute. She has been a speaker as various industry events including United Nations, Transformers, Texworld, Premiere Vision, Wear Conference, and more. Gunnar Meyer has over 30 years of experience in the textile machine industry for dyeing and finishing, in which Denim plays a prominent role.

Finishing is one of the key steps in the process from weaving to the final product being used as garments or fashion design items.

Gunnar has extensive technological experience in the entire finishing process of Denim fabrics as well as in the technical layout of the required machineries to finish the different Denim articles under most economical and ecological aspects.

Miles Lam has over 18 years of experience in the fashion and apparel industries, in particular within the denim industry. Born in Hong Kong, Miles studied design overseas in the UK before returning to a career in Asia. He has extensive experience in the product development of denim apparel, including the manufacturing process and providing innovative design and marketing solutions for clients. Miles is now currently Assistant General Manager of Design & Product Development at Crystal Denim, one of the largest and most sustainable denim manufacturers in the world, where he oversees an extensive portfolio of well-known international brands.

"Born & raised in Italy where she studied fashion design.

Specialised in denim product development, with a passion for innovation within fabrics & treatments.Silvia has worked for brands such as Diesel, Tommy Hilfiger and multiple garment makers and fabric mills creating strong international relationships whilst living and working in China, Pakistan, Mauritius, Hong Kong, Italy and Amsterdam. During this time she has gained experience within a brand, as a maker, in a mill and as a consultant, gaining expertise in products, treatments and technologies. Kelvin Chung has 20 years of experience in the textile machine industry for yarn heat setting and conditioning as well as continuous dyeing and finishing of fabric. He is the technical adviser and responsible for the sales and marketing of Goller machinery in the Far East countries.

Name: Adriano Goldschmied

Adriano Goldschmied otherwise known as the 'Godfather of Denim' earned this title from working for nearly 50 years in the denim industry. In his long career he has pioneered many new techniques and styles which are still popular today, but the most notable contribution is revolutionizing how the world looks and wears this amazing fabric, denim.

Since setting up the groundbreaking King's Shop in Cortina D\'Ampezzo in the early 1970s, he hasn't stopped creating and pushing the boundaries. He has created some of the most successful and recognizable denim brands in the world, including Goldie, A Gold E, Diesel, Replay, Gap 1969, AG Adriano Goldschmied, GoldSign and ACE GOLD GREEN. Some of his most notable achievements include the invention of the stonewash technique, the experimentation and use of Tencel fibers, creating unprecedented super stretch denim and most importantly, starting the conversation and implementation of sustainable methods in the denim industry as early as the 1990s. Currently a member of the CFDA, Adriano is as busy and innovative as ever.
